Structured data has quietly evolved from a mechanism for prettier search snippets into the primary machine-readable layer that answer and generative engines rely on to understand a page. It is the closest thing to a direct channel with extraction systems, and most deployments squander it. A validated, connected schema graph tells a machine, in unambiguous terms, what your organization is, what you sell, who wrote a page and when, and how your pages relate to each other, which is precisely the context a model needs before it will trust and cite you. The problem is that most sites either ship no meaningful schema or ship a broken, contradictory tangle of it, and both outcomes leave the engine guessing. Getting this layer right is unusually high-return work because it is deterministic: unlike content and links, which depend on judgment and competition, schema is either correct and connected or it is not, and correctness is entirely within your control.

Entity disambiguation starts with Organization schema

The foundation of the whole graph is a robust Organization or LocalBusiness node, deployed sitewide, that states your brand name, description, logo, contact points, and an extensive sameAs array linking to your authoritative profiles, Wikidata, and social presences. This is how you tell a machine which entity you are among the many that might share your name, and it is the anchor that every other schema type on the site should reference. Without it, your FAQ blocks, articles, and reviews float free, describing claims that belong to no clearly identified entity, and models treat scattered unconnected claims with far more suspicion than they treat one coherent, well-anchored entity. Markup must mirror the page, and answers must stay short
